The oath of Vayuputras is the last book in the Shiva Trilogy. in this book , after meeting Brahaspati ,Shiva comes to know that the biggest evil is Somras. In order to manufacture Somras large amount of water is needed this results in the depletion of the Saraswathi river.The waste generated in the process of manufacturing Somras was dumped into Tsangpo river, which flows through Branga and resulted in their plague. Also the birth of Nagas babies was due to Somras.
Shiva travels to Ujin to meet Gopal ,the chief of Vasudev pandits. he explains how the Vayuputra council , an ancient tribe left by Lord Rudra train a member of their tribe as the Neelkanth when evil rises. From Gopal, Shiva come to know that his uncle Manobhu ,a former Vayuputra member trained him as Neelkanth. Meluha is the centre of manufacturing Somras ,Shiva declares holy war against Meluha. Shiva realise that Mahirshi Bhrigu is the one who behind the attack in Panchavati. Shiva along with Nagas,Brangas and the Vasudev elephant crops attack Meluha. Bhrigu and Paravateshwar attack Sati's army and defeat them. After the defeat Shiva with Gopal leave Pariha to procure the deadly Brahmastra weapon. There he meet Mithra ,chief of Vayuputras who turn out to be his maternal uncle. Vayuputras gives him the Pashupathiastra which more dangerous than Brahmastra. Daksha plans to kill Shiva. So he arrange a peace conference with Shiva but sati attend the meeting on behalf of Shiva. She finds out the truth and she fight with them. She is killed in the fight. The war ends with Sati's death but Shiva decides to use the Pashupatiastra to finish Devagiri.
At the end Shiva returns to mount Kailash where he lives rest of his life in the memory of Sati.Ganesh,Kali and Karthik renowned as goods. Sati is later renowned as goddess Shakti. In order to ensure that Somras is not manufactured again the river Yamuna is turned towards the East,it cause drying up of Saraswati river.
