The book  ' Ikigai - The Japanese secret to a long happy life' is all about the purpose of one's life and it can lead to happiness. First of all ,what is Ikigai?. They interviewed lot of peoples in Okinawa and find out the various blue zones that are the reason for the longevity of it's residents. They conducted a total of one hundred interviews ,asking the eldest member's of the community about their life philosophy .their Ikigai and the secrets to longevity.  Various aspects of life are considered in the book and also it discussed about the importance of mental health which often neglected by everyone. The book provides tips for keeping mental health and suggest activities like social interaction and mind games which can be a workout for brain. 
         The book enlightens us about a technique known as Morita therapy. Morita therapy focuses on teaching people to accept their emotions without trying to control them ,sine their feelings will change as a result of their actions. Food habits also play a vital role in one's life.This book introduce  us the Okinawan tradition,'Hara hachi bu' which suggest that one should stop eating when they feel their stomachs reach 80percent of their capacity.
